Aerodrome Reporting Officer

Mount Isa Airport is part of the Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) group which owns and operates airports throughout regional Queensland. Our mission is to be the best regional airport owner and operator in Australia.

We currently have a vacancy for a casual Aerodrome Reporting Officer to join our team in Mount Isa.  At the conclusion of training this role may extend to a permanent part time position.

An Aerodrome Reporting Officer’s (ARO) role is diverse but ultimately focuses on ensuring the safety and security integrity of the airport and effectiveness of service provided to its customers.

Ideally we are seeking a qualified ARO, but candidates with aviation experience willing to undertake required ARO training will be considered. As well as relevant aviation experience, a knowledge of aviation regulations will be highly regarded. Candidates must possess a current driver’s licence, radio operator’s licence and have the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

Along with the above, to be considered for this opportunity you must have a desire to learn and a passion for aviation. You will enjoy working in a fast paced environment, can follow procedures and don’t mind working outdoors in the elements. You can work well in a team but also effectively unsupervised.

Our business is all about our customers, so you can carry out your work with a cheerful disposition and happy demeanour. The role will interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders and contractors so well developed communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships is essential. The position will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks requiring competency with Microsoft Office suite. The aviation industry doesn’t stop for weekends and public holidays so the incumbent will have the flexibility to adhere to a rotational roster.
