Works Safety Officers – Expressions of Interest

Due to an increase in project works, Gold Coast Airport are seeking expressions of interests from appropriately qualified Works Safety Officers who are able to support our operations on a temporary basis.

The successful candidate’s will be required to execute the regulated functions of an Aerodrome Works Safety Officer (WSO), represent the airport authority as a frontline overseer of works and projects activities and provide assurance in regards to regulatory compliance, operational safety and efficiency.

We are looking for an energetic and motivated people with experience working in an aviation safety role. You will pride yourself on your work ethic and enjoy making a valuable team contribution.

The Works Safety Officer’s tasks, include, but aren’t limited to:-

  • Apply a sound knowledge of relevant Method of Working Plans (MOWP) and ensure works are conducted in accordance with the MOWP and aerodrome procedures.
  • Aerodrome Works Supervision including liaising with control personnel and the works organiser/contractors
  • Ensuring limits of works are correctly marked as well as vehicles, plant and equipment
  • Apply a working understanding of aerodrome operational policies, procedures and standards
  • Apply a working knowledge of typical aircraft and airport ground vehicle characteristics as they relate to aerodrome operations, related works and maintenance activities
  • Undertake and contribute to a range of aerodrome operational and compliance activities as required
  • Identify, apply and enforce aerodrome compliance regulations

The successful candidates must hold a Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations), and have at least 1 years’ experience working in airport operations.
