In 2018 the Federal Government approved Gold Coast Airport’s Major Development Plan (MDP) for a $50 million Rydges-branded hotel at the airport precinct.
When complete, the hotel will be seven-stories high, with views over Kirra Beach and across the runway, and will include a rooftop bar and viewing deck, with 192 rooms and suites.
The hotel will be developed by Trepang and work on construction commenced in 2019.
Plans for the development of prime sites south of Gold Coast Airport are progressing – with a master plan underway for the former Border Park raceway and a development application approved for the Wollemi Place drive-in theatre. Both sites offer major job-generating potential for the northern NSW and the southern Gold Coast areas.
