Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) has announced that its Chairman Mr Jim Tolhurst will conclude his fifteen year role with QAL and the QAL Group of companies on 31 December 2013. Mr Tolhurst is the inaugural Chairman of the QAL Group having held the position since its formation with the privatisation of Gold Coast Airport in 1998.
The four airports operated by Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) at Townsville, Mount Isa, Longreach and Gold Coast recorded an aggregate growth of 6.9% for the month of January compared to January 2012.
Passenger numbers through the four airports operated by Queensland Airports Limited (QAL), in aggregated, grew by 10.2% for the month of December 2012 over December 2011.
Overall growth through the four airports operated by QAL Group in November 2012 was 10.3%. Gold Coast, Townsville and Mount Isa Airports all experienced growth over November 2011 whilst there was a decline at recently acquired Longreach Airport.
The four airports operated by Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) at Gold Coast, Townsville, Mount Isa and Longreach continued to record strong passenger movement during the month of October.
The three airports operated by Queensland Airports Limited (QAL), Gold Coast, Townsville and Mount Isa recorded growth in passenger movements of 13.1% for September over September 2011. This growth was driven primarily by the 19.0% increase achieved by Gold Coast Airport.
Today marks a milestone in the control and management of Longreach Regional Airport.
Longreach Airport Pty Ltd (LAPL) has acquired a 99 year lease over the airport from Longreach Regional Council (LRC). The lease was acquired for an up-front payment of $2.5 million.
LAPL is a 100% owned subsidiary of Queensland Airports Limited (QAL). QAL is a 100% Australian-owned and Queensland based company.
The three airports owned and operated by Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) at Gold Coast, Townsville and Mount Isa recorded just over 633,000 passenger movements collectively for the month of August. This was an increase of 7.6% for the QAL Group over the same period last year.
