Queensland Airports Limited has announced two new appointments to the senior management team.
David Collins has been appointed to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and David Hedges appointed to General Manager Property and Legal.
The three airports owned and operated by Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) at Gold Coast, Townsville and Mount Isa recorded almost 700,000 passenger movements collectively for the month of January.
This is a new record high for the QAL Group, eclipsing the previous record of 660,788 passengers set in December 2010.
Passenger movements increased by more than 17% compared to January 2010 for the QAL Group.
Queensland Airports Limited is celebrating the achievements of staff member Aaron Coghill, who was today awarded an Australia Day Achievement Medallion.
The award is presented by the Department of Community Safety to staff and volunteers who have made a significant contribution to the work of the department or provided outstanding service during the past year.

Gold Coast Airport has been named the 2010 Major Airport of the Year by the Australian Airports Association (AAA). Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer Paul Donovan last night accepted the coveted award at the AAA Awards for Aviation Excellence at the Adelaide Convention Centre and said receipt of the award signifies the ongoing growth of Gold Coast Airport in recent years.

More than 453,000 passengers travelled through Gold Coast Airport last month representing a total increase of 10%.
